Tiny Art Show and Reception

Tiny Art Show and Reception In-Person

Tiny Art Show – All Ages:  Saturday, January 25 from 10:00 to 4:00, reception at 2:00 PM

Create a work of art no larger than 3 inches x 3 inches in all directions and submit it to the library beginning January 13.

All mediums are strongly encouraged!  You could create a tiny crocheted or knitted piece, or make a small sculpture, or submit a tiny photograph – as long as your art is no bigger than 3 inches in all directions!

For those who wish to create painted/drawn art, the library has tiny canvases available on a first come, first served basis; these are available at the circulation desk and the children's desk.

Please register here so that we can plan the reception (including how much food to buy!), and so we can notify you if we need to use the snow date.   In addition, when you drop off your art we will ask you to fill in a submission form so that we can give proper attribution for all artworks.  (Paper forms will be available at the library, or you can access the form here.)

Tiny Art will be on display in Volunteers Hall from 10:00 to 4:00 on January 25, with a reception at 2:00.

Snow date is Saturday, February 8.

Submission guidelines:

  • All artwork must be no larger than 3 inches in all directions.
  • All mediums are welcome, except those that contain food or any substances considered harmful.
  • Artwork and titles of the artwork must be appropriate for all ages.
  • Limit one piece of artwork per participant.
  • If you are using the canvas/easel kit provided by the library, please bring the included easel for display.
  • Entry form is required for submitted artwork. Please register below so that we can plan the event AND also fill in a paper form to accompany your artwork when you drop it off. Forms are available at the library, or can be accessed here.
  • Library staff reserves the right to reject any art that does not follow these guidelines.
  • Participating in the Tiny Art Show gives the Harvard Public Library permission to publicly display, photograph, and promote your work.
  • Artwork may be picked up after the event, beginning on January 27 (or, if snow date is used, February 10).
  • Artwork must be collected from the library during open hours no later than February 25.
